About Bryggerens

Let me introduce you to Bryggerens, a laid-back restaurant tucked into the historic streets of Copenhagen that feels instantly welcoming the moment you hear about it. Located at Bag Elefanterne 20, 1799 København, Denmark, this spot is the kind of place locals casually recommend when you ask where to eat, drink, and actually relax. Bryggerens blends a classic restaurant vibe with a modern, easygoing attitude, so it works just as well for a spontaneous dinner as it does for lingering conversations over drinks. The menu leans toward shareable plates and comforting favorites, with thoughtful vegetarian options that don’t feel like an afterthought. Beer lovers will feel right at home here, but the selection goes far beyond that, with cocktails, wine, spirits, and even a solid coffee offering for slower moments. On warmer days, outdoor seating turns the experience into something especially social, while dine-in service keeps things cozy and unpretentious inside. If staying in sounds better, delivery makes it easy to bring the Bryggerens experience to your own table without losing the personality. Late-night food adds another layer of appeal, making it a reliable option when most kitchens start to wind down and you’re still craving something satisfying. What really stands out, though, is how effortlessly everything comes together, from the relaxed service to the balanced menu and flexible dining options. Bryggerens feels designed for real life, whether that means dropping by for small plates and a beer, meeting friends for cocktails, or enjoying a casual meal that doesn’t rush you out the door. It’s the kind of restaurant you remember not because it tries too hard, but because it quietly delivers exactly what you’re looking for at the moment. Service feels attentive without hovering, which makes first-time visitors comfortable and regulars feel known, and the overall atmosphere encourages you to settle in, explore the drinks list, and enjoy the rhythm of the neighborhood around you.

Carlsberg Byen feels just like London or any other metropol and that is a good thing. Carls Øl & Spisehus fits right in and the food is very good. We went for the Danish classic "smørrebrød" (smorgasbord) and it was very nice. One with avocado and one with tartar is a nice combo and if you pair it with a Grimbergen Blanche, you can't go wrong. Highly recommended.

We made a dinner reservation through Early Bird, but we were even earlier birds and arrived to the place before the booked time. That was not a problem, we were kindly showed to the bar where the staff explained everything about the place, different beers they have on the taps, gave us tasting samples and so on. 40 min after we were taken to our table. The staff informed us that one dish of the original menu was not available, but we got a free “upgrade” to another dish, so we were quite happy about that. The food was very good and the paired beer worked perfectly. All in all a fantastic experience. Definitely can recommend, if you like good food, cozy atmosphere and variety of beers.

Large drinks selection. I only took a drink but I will definitely come back to taste the food part ! It made me really curious ! And can not wait for better days to try the outside that looks lovely !

In a magical historical and carefully refurbished part of central Copenhagen you find this gem of an informal and cosy restaurant with excellently efficient service, great wine at rare fair prices and deliciously tasty traditional Danish food with a twist by the main man Chef Otto: the Chef of 2023 in Denmark. We were family party of 6 for lunch and had a ball of a time! We will be back for sure!

Had a snack, a starter and a main course to share between two people of average size; it was definitely enough and very tasteful. Great beer selection with a very broad range of Carlsberg and friend (obviously based on the location). Decent place to grab a beer and a snack at any time of the day. A beer for every taste accompanied with savory and salty food!

Large restaurant/beer hall with a wide variety of brews on tap and some sandwiches/small dishes to soak up the booze. The food was good overall, though the chicken salad didn’t have much chicken. Service was friendly and English-speaking. Nice lunch spot.
